How to Set Up Verizon Wireless Internet

Setting up Verizon Wireless Internet on your computer can allow you access to your favorite Internet applications, regardless of your location. This service is especially valuable for frequent travelers or for rural consumers who do not have other broadband Internet choices. To set up Verizon Wireless Internet, you will need to acquire a currently supported modem that is compatible with your computer and to set up an account and plan with Verizon Wireless. If you intend to use the service sporadically, a pay-as-you-go DayPass plan may be a better option.

Tips & Warnings

  • Unless you plan on using the Mobile DayPass service, you should set up an account and plan with Verizon Wireless or an authorized retailer.

  • If you want to automate the process of setting up Verizon Wireless Internet, consider purchasing directly from a Verizon Wireless authorized dealer or from an actual Verizon Wireless store. In these cases, the dealer will activate your card and set up the VZAccess Manager software while you are in the store.

  • You can also tether your smartphone to your laptop via a data cable. You can install the data cable drivers while running the VZAccess Manager for the first time.

  • If you are upgrading your equipment, you will need to perform an ESN swap online.
