How to Start a Dental Supplies List Startup

To have healthy, strong teeth, you need to have the right tools. But if you aren't used to purchasing what you need yourself, you'll need to start a dental supplies list. You might be going on a long vacation or going away to college. You could also be planning to start your own dental practice in the future. Whatever the reason, creating a list is a great first step.

Instructions

    • 1

Start your list by selecting a toothbrush. A toothbrush is necessary for dental health. You can choose a conventional toothbrush or an electric toothbrush. You can choose between soft, medium, and hard bristles. If you're unsure about the type of toothbrush that's right for you, ask your dentist.

    • 2

Choose a type of toothpaste to use with your toothbrush, and add it to your list. Fluoride toothpastes are recommended by many dentists. You should also consider using natural toothpastes. These brands don't contain harsh ingredients that can irritate sensitive teeth and gums. Natural toothpastes with fluoride are available.

    • 3

Choose between dental floss or tape. Floss is thinner, while tape is a little thicker. You can also purchase mint-flavored floss. Floss is used to clean the small areas between teeth. Again, natural brands of floss are available. Make your choice, and add it to your list.

Ask your dentist if there are any other products or specific product brands that she recommends. Talk with her about the best ways to keep your teeth healthy and strong, and add her suggestions to your supplies list.

    • 5

Interview a few local dentists in your area if you're making a startup list for a future dental practice. There are literally hundreds of items that you can add to this list, but a few 30-minute informational interviews with dentists who have their own practices can help get your list started.

    • 6

Research online to find any other products or tools that can be added to your list. Reading reviews online can help you find the right products for your personal dental health needs. You can also find information online about what supplies are needed to start a dental practice. Be sure to add everything you find to your list.

Tips & Warnings

  • When adding items to your list, be sure to double-check with your dentist before using them for the first time. For example, people with sensitive teeth should consider avoiding toothpastes with whitening products, which can increase tooth sensitivity. Your dentist can help you find a natural alternative to help whiten your teeth.
