How to Make a Colloidal Silver Sinus Rinse

A bacterial sinus infection is a miserable experience that comes with congestion, dripping, facial pain and headache. Most doctors prescribe pharmaceutical antibiotics, but people are increasingly wary of overusing antibiotics. Natural remedies like sinus rinsing can be just as effective, and adding colloidal silver, a natural antibiotic, to the rinsing procedure can make it much more powerful. Colloidal silver consists of tiny particles of this natural soft elemental metal suspended in pure water.

Things You'll Need

  • 1/8 tsp. Xylitol
  • 1 oz. colloidal silver
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 tbsp. sterile or distilled water
  • Small bowl
  • Eye dropper
  • Kitchen timer
  • Bottle of over-the-counter saline solution
  • Tissues

Instructions

    • 1

Mix the solution. Add 1/8 tsp. of Xylitol, a pinch of salt and 1 tbsp. distilled water to 1 oz. (1 tbsp.) colloidal silver in a small bowl. Stir to dissolve. You can also mix half colloidal silver with half of any over-the-counter saline solution in its own bottle to use as a nasal spray.

    • 2

Fill the eye dropper with the solution. Set the timer for three minutes. Lie on your back with your head hanging upside down off the edge of a bed. Slowly drip the solution into each nostril, just until it begins to drip at the back of your throat. This means your sinuses are full. Lie still until the timer goes off.

    • 3

Set the timer for another three minutes. Roll over onto your belly so your head hangs over the edge of the bed, face-down. Stay like that until the timer goes off.

    • 4

Sit up and let the solution drain out of your nose and into a tissue. Discard the remaining solution. Don't save it for future use.

    • 5

Set the timer for 45 minutes and repeat the procedure. This makes one full rinse session. It's important to do this step, or the rinse won't work as well to kill the bacteria. Do this twice a day, morning and night. It will take a couple of days for you to see the results.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can buy both Xylitol and colloidal silver in a health food store or online.

  • Carry a bottle of saline nasal spray mixed with colloidal silver to moisten your nose and sinuses during the day until your infection clears up.

  • Don't mistake silver protein for colloidal silver. Silver protein will actually aggravate your infection.
