How to Use Purse Frames
Use purse frames to create dainty beaded bags, cute change purses or small clutches for day or evening wear. Purse frames can create a structured bag, which is ideal for both modern and retro fashion looks. Metal purse frames are available in both silver and gold, so choose the look that you prefer. Only basic sewing skills are needed to make purses with a purse frame.

1
Trace your purse frame onto paper. Use a ruler to draw out a simple rectangular or an A-line pattern for a purse, using the curve of the purse frame as the top edge of the purse. Draw a line 1/2 inch away from your pattern to make room for seam allowances.
-
2
Cut two outer and two lining pieces for your purse. Cut four pieces of interfacing. Fuse the interfacing to the wrong sides of the outer and lining fabrics, according to the manufacturer's instructions. Make and stitch pockets or other internal features for your framed purse onto the lining before proceeding.

3
Sew the two sides and the bottom of the outer fabrics with the right sides of the fabric facing one another, leaving a 1/2-inch seam allowance. Do the same for the lining and leave a 2- to 3-inch opening for turning.

4
Turn the outer fabric right side out. Place this into the wrong side out lining. Stitch around the upper edge of the fabric. Trim the seam allowances, then turn right side out. Press, working carefully along the top of the fabric. Hand-sew the opening in the lining closed.

5
Apply a narrow bead of glue to the inside of the purse frame. Push the fabric into the frame using a bamboo skewer. Dry for at least 24 hours before you use your handbags made with purse frames.
