How to Substitute Woolite for a Delicate Wash
Quickly hand wash delicates with shampoo when Woolite is not available. Whether you are traveling and away from your home products, trying to save money, or just out of Woolite and need to clean delicates in a pinch, diluted shampoo works gently to remove grime. All you need is a sink, running water and a few drops of shampoo to create a sudsy lather that won't damage even delicate clothing. Does this Spark an idea?

Fill a tub, sink or basin three quarters of the way full with hot or cold water. Use warm water if the fabric colors are white or light and cold water if the fabric colors are bright or dark.

Submerse one piece of clothing in the water to get it completely wet before adding a few drops of a gentle shampoo or baby shampoo.

Agitate the clothing vigorously by hand to build up soapy suds, then allow the garment to soak for five minutes.

Drain the soapy water from the sink and refill the sink with clean water before again working the clothing vigorously in the water.

Drain the rinse water and wring as much water from the cloth as possible.

Lay the damp, clean piece of clothing out flat on a dry towel and allow it to air dry for a couple hours.

With airline regulations making it difficult to bring large amounts of liquid soaps and detergents, using the free hotel shampoo to wash delicates will save you time and a shopping trip at your destination.
Washing multiple garments at the same time will require using more shampoo in order to be effective.
