      Raise the head of the mixer so that you can see the underside of it, where the beater attachment fits. Unplug the mixer before you start to avoid any potential accidents.

      Attach the flat beater into the KitchenAid mixer. If the height is correct for this beater, it should also be correct for most other beater attachments.

      Locate the screw under the head of the KitchenAid mixer, near the beater attachment. Raise the beater height by turning the screw ¼ of a turn to the left, or counter-clockwise. Lower the beater height by turning the screw ¼ of a turn to the right, or clockwise. Keep adjusting the screw until the beater height is at an acceptable level. Adjust the screw no more than ¼ of a turn at a time.
