How to Change the User Folder Name
Changing the User Folder name is something you may want to know how to do. The User Folder name is used in several different folders in your computer that are often used on a day to day basis. Because of this, you will probably want the name displayed to be set the way you want. Whether you just changed your mind about the display name or you got a computer that already had a set name, changing it is a simple process. In order to change the User Folder name, you must change the computer username. These instructions will work for any Windows installation.

Open the Start Menu in the Windows Taskbar and click on "Control Panel." The Windows Control Panel is the place to go to set just about all of your computer options.

Click on "User Accounts." Here you will have access to the controls for making changes to your computer's user accounts. The options will include settings such as setting permissions for accounts, changing or removing passwords, and changing account names.

Press the "Change your account name" link and enter in the new name or nickname you wish to use. When done, press "Change Name" to save your changes. Your User Folder name is now changed.
