How to Send Money With American Express

Sending money to friends and family can be done in many ways. If someone you know needs money, or you just want to send a gift you may want to consider using American Express gift cards. Gift cards are a secure way to send money without giving out any of your personal bank account information, or sending cash through the mail. There are couple things you can do to get started and send someone a gift card today.

Things You'll Need

• American Express, Visa or MasterCard
• Valid email address
• Recipient's address (if sending directly to the recipient)

Instructions

1. Visit the American Express website, and go to the page about gift cards.

2. Choose the type of gift card you would like to send. There are basic gift cards for any occasion, personalized cards and cards featuring your own photos.

3. Upload your photo if you are ordering a photo card. Fill in the information that follows on the next screens regarding dollar amount, recipient name, shipping address and billing address information. Click "Add to Cart".

4. Click on the payment tab, and fill out your billing details. You will need your American Express, Visa or MasterCard to pay for the gift card.

5. Click on the "Verify" tab and closely look over all of the details of your transaction. Once you are satisfied with the transaction, click "Submit" to confirm and process your card and payment.
