How to Win at Reversi
Reversi is a strategy game played on a square board with round chips that are black on one side, white on the other. It is also known as Othello. It is played by filling the board with chips; two players take turns placing their chips down and flipping their opponent's chips over. The game is won when either one player fills the board entirely with their color or the entire board is filled to capacity and one player has more colors showing than another.

Keep your moves close to the center of the board. If you try to spread out to the edges too soon, you provide opponent with more room to work. This is how you should begin your game of Reversi, but keep in mind that you will eventually want to work outward to the board's edges after all of the spaces in the center are occupied.

Try to avoid putting your chips on the squares just inside the edge squares. The edge squares are the ones you want; if you put a chip just inside of an edge square, your opponent will take the edge. Wait until your opponent has put a chip just inside of an edge square, and then take the edge at the first opportunity.

Focus on the edges and the corners. The most valuable places on the board are the four corners. If you can get all four corners, it's very unlikely that you'll ever lose a game of Reversi. This is because a corner chip can never be reversed. You'll keep it that color for the rest of the game. Once you get a corner, ignore what's happening in the middle of the board and try to get a complete line of your color along the edges of the board.

Tips & Warnings
If your opponent gets one or two of the corners before you do, don't panic. You can still win if you get the other two corners, but now you must try even harder to avoid the squares just inside the edge.
Do not play this game with any sort of urgency. It requires strategy and brain power. If you try to flip as many of your opponent's chips as possible in a short amount of time, you'll probably lose.
