1
Access the Uninstall utility by clicking Start > Programs/All Programs > BearShare > Uninstall.
BearShare may be in a parent folder under the developer name, in some cases. The Uninstall option may also not appear in the Start Menu or it may be a broken link.
-
2
Run the Uninstall utility if it is available in the Start Menu. Follow the directions in the dialogue box to remove BearShare from your computer. The utility may not uninstall the program completely. If that happens, you will have to delete the program files manually.

3
Open My Computer > C: > Program Files > BearShare. When you find the folder containing BearShare, remove them by deleting them and emptying the Recycle Bin. This step may require you to be logged on as an administrator.
BearShare often installs two other programs with it--WeatherCast and Save. If they are located in the Start menu, try to run the Uninstall utilities for each of them. If they are not there, delete their folders in C:/Program Files.
-
4
Alter the Uninstall file if BearShare will not run the utility or refuses to uninstall. In the folder containing BearShare, find the "Install.log" file. Rename the file to "Install.log.exe."
After renaming, double-click the file which should bring up the Install utility that showed up when the program was first installed. Instead of choosing "Install" in this utility, choose "Uninstall" and complete the dialogue boxes.
