Hang wind chimes from the eaves of your home with a metal S plant hanger or a length of small chain. You'll need to insert a stainless steel screw eye hook into the wooden eaves to provide an anchor for the wind chimes. If your home is covered with vinyl siding, you can screw the hook through the siding or hang the wind chimes from the gutters with an S plant hanger.

Hang your wind chimes from a tree branch in your yard or garden. Cut a length of small chain, long enough to wrap around any tree branch that's at least 2 inches in diameter. Wrap the chain around the branch and join the ends together with a small S hook. Attach an S hook to your wind chimes and connect it to the chain around the tree.

Hang your wind chimes from a shepherd's hook in your garden or in your yard. You can find shepherd's hooks that stand tall enough to allow even the longest wind chimes to dangle freely. Shepherd's hooks have curved ends where you can hook a small S hook or a length of chain to hang your wind chimes.

Hang wind chimes with fishing line if you prefer for the hanger to be practically invisible. Cut a length of fishing twice as long as you'd like the wind chimes to drape. Knot the ends of the line together to make a large loop. Cover the knot with clear craft glue for added security and let it dry. Hook the loop onto a nail in a tree branch or a screw eye hook in the eaves of your home. Hook the wind chimes onto the loop in the fishing line with a small S hook.
