How to Use Peroxide for Soothing an Earache
Your ear hurts and you can't get to the doctor until the next day. What can you do to temporarily ease the pain? There are home remedies for earaches that can be helpful. All you need is some hydrogen peroxide, which is easy to get at the drugstore and inexpensive.

Pour a small amount of hydrogen peroxide into a glass or bowl. You don't want to put the dropper directly into the bottle of hydrogen peroxide because the dropper could contaminate the hydrogen peroxide.

Fill the dropper with the hydrogen peroxide in the glass.

Place three drops in the ear that aches.

Wait 2 to 3 minutes.

Gently rinse out the ear with warm water.

Tips & Warnings
See your doctor immediately if there is swelling of the ear or burning or if there is any discharge or pus.
While hydrogen peroxide may temporarily ease the pain of an earache, it will not treat the underlying cause of the pain. See a doctor if pain persists more than 24 hours or if it increases in intensity.
