Instructions

    • 1

To start off, pick a color that's 1-2 shades darker or lighter than your natural hair color (or 2-4, if you're going for a more dramatic look).

    • 2

Make sort of a "plan" for your hair - you can't just start adding coloring everywhere, after all! Carefully decide which layers of hair you want to color. (Ex. if you want the colors to frame your face, run vertically down everywhere, thicker, thinner, etc.)

    • 3

Start with the top layer of your hair. Place your foil and how much hair you want to color on it. Take your brush to apply your dye.

    • 4

Once you're done coating your hair, fold the foil so no dye will drain out. Use clips to secure its place.

    • 5

Repeat until you're done with your top layer, and move on to the layers underneath.

    • 6

Wait for all the dye to dry, and then wash as directed on the hair dye kit.
