How to Remove a Door Panel on a 2003 Tahoe
Learning how to remove the door panel in your vehicle is important, should you ever need to replace the speakers or fix a broken power window or lock. The 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe shares its door panel with several vehicles, including the Silverado, the GMC Yukon and the GMC Denali. These instructions apply to all Tahoe models made between 2000 and 2004.

1
Disconnect the negative battery cable before you get started. All 2003 Tahoe models have power windows and locks; you'll have several electrical modules to disconnect; disconnecting the negative battery cable will prevent shock.
-
2
Pry off the side mirror panel (called a sail panel). This triangular panel is on the corner of the door panel.
-
-
3
Push the door lock tab to the "Unlock" position. Pry off the small panel surrounding the door lock tab. Push the panel forward to unhook it from the door lock rod.
-
4
Pry up the power window control panel. Once the panel is unhooked, disconnect the three electrical modules.
-
5
Remove the 7mm bolts. One bolt is located within the window control panel cavity, the other is right above the interior door handle.
-
6
Pry off the plastic panel surrounding the interior door handle from the rear. Pull the panel forward and around the door handle.
-
7
Pry off the interior courtesy lamp lens. Unhook the electrical module from behind it.
-
8
Push up on the door panel to separate the hooks, and then pull the door panel away carefully. Some models have additional modules to unhook at this point; unhook them before pulling the door panel completely off.

Tips & Warnings
If you don't have a pry tool, you can use a flat head screwdriver; the smaller it is, the better it will work.
