How to Extract Sperm From a Bull
Selective breeding of cattle presents a vital avenue in producing purebred animals. Cattle, as with all other animals, may not always make the best judgment in determining with whom they mate. Artificial insemination of a female is sometimes necessary when you simply cannot coax a bull to mate with her. In this situation, you will find that you must extract semen from a bull so that it may be used to impregnate the desired female artificially, so she is able to give birth to a purebred offspring.

Use an electric cattle prod to coax the bull into an animal holding chute and lock him in using the locking lever built onto the chute.

Use the electric cattle prod to coax a trained steer into a holding chute in front of the bull so he may become aroused and so he is able to mount her when his penis becomes erect. This will cause him to believe he is actually having sex with the mate.

When the bull starts moving his penis toward the decoy steer, slip an artificial vagina, purchased from your local livestock supply outlet, onto the bull's penis. When doing so, only touch the opening to the glans of his penis, thus stimulating it. The bull will sense the stimulation to his glans and will then thrust his penis into the artificial vagina on his own. As far as the bull is concerned at this time, he has completely mounted the steer for intercourse.

Permit the bull to go through his entire sexual act until ending with ejaculation into the artificial vagina. Quickly remove the artificial vagina from the bull's penis and cap the top of it firmly, refrigerating the extracted semen immediately to a temperature of no more than 38 degrees F. If the semen won't be injected into a selected female within one day of collection, the semen may be frozen for later use.

Tips & Warnings
Never attempt to extract semen from a bull without having locked him into a holding chute first, unless you are an extremely experienced animal handler. This is necessary to stabilize him, to ease the extraction process and to prevent injury to the animal handler during the process.

Don't you need a cow - not a TRAINED STEER - to arouse the bull? Unless the bull is gay, of course. That'd be different.
