How to Enable CD and DVD Autorun in Microsoft Windows XP
When you place a CD or DVD into the disc drive on a Windows XP computer, by default the "Autorun" feature is enabled. This means that the program on the disc runs automatically without user intervention. This is usually a convenience, but in certain situations, Autorun is undesirable. Some software applications automatically disable the feature during installation for security or performance reasons. If you find that the Autorun feature on your computer is suddenly and unexpectedly disabled, you can re-enable it in a few easy steps.
Things You'll Need
- A PC with Windows XP installed
- A CD/DVD drive capable of using the autorun feature with Windows XP
