Apple's iPod is great for carrying your music collection with you, but the iTunes software that is designed to work with it doesn't allow the music to be transferred from your iPod back to your PC. Fortunately, there is software that lets you move songs from your iPod to any PC.

Things You'll Need:

  • Floola iPod software
  1. Step 1

Download a copy of Floola from http://www.floola.com. Floola is a free program that is available for Windows, Mac and Linux users. It is portable and can be run on any computer or from a flash drive. You can even store the Floola .exe file on your iPod.

  2. Step 2

Connect your iPod to your PC. If you have iTunes set up to launch automatically, disable this feature, eject your iPod and close iTunes. Connect your iPod again. Floola can't run if iTunes is also running.

  3. Step 3

Launch Floola by navigating to the file location and double clicking the Floola icon.

  4. Step 4

Set up your iPod. Floola will attempt to detect your iPod version. If it can't detect your iPod version, a pop-up window will open and allow you to select the correct iPod version. Once your iPod is properly set up, your music library will appear in the Floola window.

  5. Step 5

Select the files you wish to transfer by single-clicking the file name. Select multiple files by holding down shift or control while clicking the file name.

  6. Step 6

Select "File>Copy to." A pop-up box will allow you to navigate to your preferred folder. Click "OK." Your files will be transferred to your selected location.

Tips & Warnings
  • Hold down the shift key while closing Floola to eject your iPod. Floola is free, so if your find it useful, remember to make a donation to the program's developer.
