How to Get Deoxys on the Pokemon Emerald Version

Save

Deoxys is a psychic Pokemon that can only be obtained from Birth Island in Pokemon Emerald. Birth Island can only be reached by players with the Aurora Ticket key item. This key item is only obtainable from attending an official Pokemon event. Deoxys is the only Pokemon found on Birth Island. A small puzzle must be solved in order to start the battle with him. Deoxys comes in four different forms with slightly different stats and appearance depending on what version of the game the player uses. Pokemon Emerald has the "Speed Form," with more emphasis on its speed stat than the other forms.

Things You'll Need

  • Aurora Ticket
  • Attend a Pokemon event sponsored by Nintendo with a copy of Pokemon Emerald. Have an event worker link to your game to send you the Aurora Ticket.

  • Talk to the NPC standing next to the S.S. Tidal at any city with a port, such as Lilycove or Slateport.

  • Choose to go to Birth Island.

  • Walk up to the black triangle and examine it. The triangle will move to another random location.

  • Walk to the triangle using the least possible number of steps.

  • Examine the triangle again. It will move to another random location. Repeat this process until Deoxys appears.

  • Examine Deoxys to start a fight. He is level 30.

  • Damage him until his health bar is red.

  • Use a Pokeball to capture Deoxys.

Tips & Warnings

  • Only one Deoxys can be obtained in Pokemon Emerald. The one on Birth Island is the only one in the entire game. Save right before going to Birth Island, and reset the game if you accidentally kill Deoxys. The location and date of Pokemon events is typically not released by Nintendo until the month of the event. Checking the official website is the best chance of seeing when and where events will take place.
