How to Convert A Blackberry To Work On Boost Mobile IDEN (Boostberry)

Boost Mobile offers prepaid cellphone service. In some cases, you can use a cell phone that you already own from another network. To use a BlackBerry with Boost Mobile's IDEN network, the device must use a SIM card. You will need to obtain a SIM card from Boost Mobile to activate the BlackBerry.

      Charge your BlackBerry device completely.

      Set up an account with Boost Mobile. You can set up an account in a store, over the phone or online. If you set up an account in person at a store, bring the BlackBerry with you.

      Give the Boost Mobile representative your BlackBerry's IMEI number. To find this number, remove the back cover and the battery. Locate the white sticker underneath the battery. The number is listed after the letters "IMEI."

      Insert the SIM card into the SIM card slot in the BlackBerry's battery compartment.

      Reinsert the battery and attach the back cover. Power on the BlackBerry. It will take a few moments for the device to boot up completely.

      Place a test call from the BlackBerry.

Tips & Warnings

  • Contact Boost Mobile from a different phone if you are unable to make and receive calls with the BlackBerry.

  • If you set up your account online or over the phone, you will need to wait for your SIM card to be mailed to you. If you activate your BlackBerry in person, you will receive the SIM card immediately.
