Information booklets are designed to help others understand important points about a particular topic. For instance, you might make an information booklet to provide facts about a charity, a test or a disease. It's important to make the booklet user-friendly so recipients can quickly get the information they need.

Things You Will Need
  • Paper

  • Computer with Internet

  • Booklet template

Determine the size of your information booklet. Small booklets are more easily distributed and will cost less if you are ordering copies from a printer. Sizes to consider include 5 1/2-by-8 1/2 inches and 8 1/2-by-11 inches for the final versions. Standard letter-size paper will be used to create the smaller version while legal size will be used for the latter.

Find an online template to create your booklet. Templates will allow you to easily fill in the information required to create the project. You can find multiple sources through websites like the Paper Mill Store (see References).

Customize the template to include relevant data for your project. Use the crop marks and fold marks to determine where to place your text. You can use word processing insertions like bullets and numbering to draw attention to important points. Text size, text color, background color and text type can also be adjusted.

Add images to the booklet. For better resolution, make sure the images are at least 300 dpi.

Save the information booklet file before printing. Load the correct-size paper into the printer and print your copies. Use the fold marks to determine the appropriate place to fold the booklet. If you need a large quantity, you may want to consider sending the file to a printer and ordering copies.
