How to Connect your PS3 to Wifi
One of the great things about newer models of Sony's PlayStation 3 (PS3) game console is the ability to connect to a wireless router without the need to purchase an expensive network adapter. This is handy for gamers whose console is located in a different room or area where a wired networking connection is not convenient or available. Setting up a Wi-Fi connection for the PS3 is a simple process.

Test the PS3 with an Ethernet cable to ensure there are no existing networking issues with the console. In addition, check the wireless network to ensure there is a Wi-Fi signal available.

With the PS3 on, go to the "Network Settings" section under the "Settings" menu screen.

Select the "Internet Connection" tab and select "Yes" when prompted at the new screen.

Select "Easy" on the new screen and select "Wireless" at the "Internet connection" screen.

Select "Scan," and once it lists available Internet connections, select your network. If needed, enter the password to your network.

Save settings, then test the connection.
