Things You'll Need:

  • An Understanding of the following key terms:
  • marketing
  • internet marketing
  • marketing research
  • marketing plan
  1. Step 1

Step 1) The internet is an an invaluable tool for marketing for the small business entpreneur because it can save tons of money on conventional marketing tactics. Here are some tried-and-true ways of marketing your small business on the internet. CRAIGSLIST. Craigslist is a free online classified board. It's one of the top 25 most visited websites in the entire world. Whether you are selling a product or a service, you need to have your business marketed on craigslist on a weekly basis. This is a great first step in marketing your small business on the internet.

  2. Step 2

Step 2) EMAIL BLAST. Email blasts are very cheap methods for internet marketing because so many internet-based companies can do them. I send out an email blast for marketing for one of my how to business books on a daily basis to 2.7 million people. Yes, I know no one likes to get spam so make sure you do you email blast through a reputable company like webtrafficmarketing.com. Email blast marketing can be very lucrative if done right.

  3. Step 3

Step 3) BACKPAGE.COM. Backpage is an online classfied site like craigslist, but it doesn't get as much traffic as craigslist does. Nonetheless, it's worthwhile to market your business or service on backpage.com as well.

  4. Step 4

Step 4) ONLINE JOURNALISM SITES. Online journalism sites like ehow.com, bukisa.com, associatedcontent.com, triond.com, ezinearticles.com, and groundreport.com are great ways to both market your products/service for free and get paid for writing the articles. I recommend writing a daily article for all these sites to spread exposure for your small business.

  5. Step 5

Step 5) MARKETING PLAN. Let me step back for a minute. You need to write an internet marketing plan before embarking on these different venues of marketing. Any entrepreneur worth his salt knows the value of marketing research, marketing strategy, and having a marketing plan--take the time to write one out before initiating your internet marketing plan.

  6. Step 6

Step 6) HAVE AN EBOOK--Write an ebook replete with key words for high search engine optimisation. Ebooks are excellent ways to market on the internet and draw traffic to your website. Make sure its a good length--100 pages long--, well-written, and proofread in order to get the marketing traffic your website deserves.

  7. Step 7

Step 7)I hope this has been a helpful beginner's guide on marketing on the internet. I can't stress the importance of marketing research and marketing strategy enough in producing your marketing plan. Good luck!
