How to Change MP3 ID Tags

ID3 tags are files that are encoded with MP3s and contain information about the song. These tags can include information such as the name of the song and artist, genre, length, album name and even cover art. They are useful in MP3 programs and players for keeping music organized. Changing the information contained in the MP3 ID tags is not difficult to do and doesn't require any special software.

Instructions

1. Open the folder containing the MP3 files whose tags you would like to edit.

2. Right-click on the song file you would like to edit and select "Properties."

3. Click on the "Details" tab.

4. Select the field you would like to edit and start typing.

5. Click "OK" to save your changes.

Tips & Warnings

• You can edit multiple files at once by highlighting them and following the same steps. This will allow you to apply the same attributes (such as artist name or album name) to a group of MP3s.
