Feed Your Pet Ball Python
Feed Your Pet Ball Python

I will provide a safe and easy way on how to feed your pet python.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Ball Python
  • Rat
  • Water
  • Tissues
  1. Step 1

You will need to purchase a rat {or dead animal of your choice} at your local pet store. The dead animal {in this case a rat} should be frozen

  2. Step 2

Bring the rat home and let it thaw out in an area where you are comfortable with having a rat in a bag.

  3. Step 3

Once the rat is at room temperature take it out of the bag with a tissue and walk it over to your snake, the snake should still be in prospective cage or housing.

  4. Step 4

Open the top of the cage carefully the snake might already smell the rat and is ready to eat it.

  5. Step 5

Dangle the rat from the top of the cage but bring the top down and let it rest on top of the rat.

  6. Step 6

If the snake is hungry he or she should strike taking the rat away for your grasp.

  7. Step 7

Close the top of the cage, throw the tissue away, wash your hands and be happy that the snake caught the food and not your hand!!

    Happy feeding!!

Tips & Warnings
  • If the snake is not interested in the rat, it might still be to cold and you should warm it up by running it underneath hot water.
  • Do not put your hand all the way in the cage, especially with the presence of the rat, the snake can see warmth and mistake your hand for the rat.
