How to Take a Medrol Dose Pack

Medrol Dose Pack is used to boost the immune system for the treatment of a variety of health conditions including arthritis, severe allergies, asthma, certain blood disorders and skin conditions like severe psoriasis. Medrol is available by prescription only and it must be used according to strict doctor's instructions to prevent misuse or abuse. Dosage requirements vary greatly with each individual and with the specific condition being treated.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Take the Medrol Dose Pack per your doctor or pharmacist's instructions. Read the usage and dosage instructions on the pack carefully before taking the pills.

  2. Step 2

    Take the medicine orally with or without food. Taking the medicine with food, however, can greatly reduce stomach pain or discomfort.

  3. Step 3

    Skip any missed doses of Medrol, and move on to your next scheduled dose. Do not take a double dose of this medicine.

  4. Step 4

    Store the Medrol Dose Pack at 77 degrees in a place away from light, heat and moisture. Keep away from the reach of children, and do not store this medicine in the bathroom or refrigerator.

Tips & Warnings
  • Talk to your doctor before taking Medrol if you are pregnant or nursing, or if you have any of the following conditions: HIV, tuberculosis, history of heart problems, ulcers, diarrhea, osteoporosis, high blood pressure, kidney disease, diabetes and any type of fungal, viral or bacterial infection. Contact your doctor immediately if any of these side effects occur: rash, hives, difficult breathing, swelling of the tongue or lips, mood changes, changes in body fat or menstrual periods, black stool, muscle pain, weakness, dizziness, nausea and vomiting, and unusual bleeding or excessive bruising.
  • Do not use Medrol if you are currently taking mifepristone, if you have a systemic fungal infection, if you are allergic to any of the ingredients in Medrol or if you are about to get a smallpox vaccine.
