PlayStation Home is a social networking platform designed by Sony and used by owners of the PlayStation 3 home video game console. In it, users can interact with other users over the Internet using created characters used to represent their consoles. Users can meet inside the PlayStation Home network and choose to play online multiplayer games together or share files and information. PlayStation Home does not yet have a fully functioning public release, but, since the end of 2008, users can participate in an open-to-the-public beta test.
