How to Send Internet Pictures to a Cell Phone
Cell phones are upgraded and updated regularly, according to a 2009 MSNBC News article, making them less like mobile phones and more like mini mobile PCs, complete with MP3s, videos and image libraries. Using some of these advanced features can be difficult for newer cell phone users, but the process doesn't have to be so mysterious with the right know-how. In just a few quick steps, you can learn to send pictures from the Internet to your cell phone for use as a screen background image or as an image-ID for one your phone's "contacts."

1
Plug a USB cable into the cable port on the bottom or side of your phone. Some phones use standard USB cables, but mini-USB cables (see Resources) are increasingly used for most cellular devices.
-
2
Boot up your computer and plug the other end of the USB cable into your PC's USB port.
-
-
3
Turn on your cell phone.
-
4
Wait a moment while Windows automatically detects the new device and installs drivers. A message will pop up in the lower right-hand corner of the screen letting you know when the "device is installed and ready to use."
-
5
Browse the Internet for pictures.
-
6
Right click on any pictures you want to send to the cell phone and select "Save Picture As."
-
7
Name and save the image to the cell phone by selecting "Computer" in Vista or "My Computer" in older versions of Windows. Then click on the cell phone icon listed underneath the "Devices With Removable Storage" heading, just beneath the icons for your primary hard drives. You are now inside the cell phone's main storage bank. In some cases the cell phone stores all files uniformly on the main storage bank, but in other cases you'll notice additional folders. In the case of additional folders, click on the folder labeled "Images" or "Pictures." Click "Save" to send the image directly to your cell phone's storage bank for future usage on your phone.
