Instructions

Place your jacket in the same room as a quality humidifier. Leave it hanging in there for an hour, and then check to see if it is becoming less stiff. If so, leave it awhile longer to get the results you want. This will not work every time.

    • 2

Use a odorless oil, such as linseed or canola oils, or a leather conditioner like Lexol. Use the oils or conditioner by putting some in your hands, and then massage it into the jacket. Then, once it has been covered, put the jacket into your dryer and "air fluff" dry with no heat. Place a pair of shoes covered in towels into the dryer with the jacket.

Take your jacket to a professional. Most dry cleaning facilities can handle leather conditioning, and if you can afford the expense when nothing else works, it will be well worth it to maintain your comfort and your jacket's appearance.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you dryer does not have an "air fluff" setting, skip that step.
