Step 1
Check your local listings. A local dealer around you might sell ammunition wholesale, but you’ll have to look for that. Try searching for a place via Google Maps (found at maps.google.com) or search your local yellow pages. If you really want to find a local place, ask your local hunting supply store where they get their ammunition wholesale.
-
Step 2
Know if you’re eligible. Keep in mind that there are heavy restrictions about importing ammunition. While you may finder cheaper prices overseas, there are very stringent laws about doing so. Laws not only vary depending on your background, but they also vary from state to state. You’ll want to consult with the dealer any issues that may arise. If you are under the age of 21 or have a criminal background, you are automatically barred from importing ammunition from overseas.
-
Step 3
Get on the internet. If step one didn’t succeed then your next best bet is to look for dealers who sell wholesale ammunition online. There are plenty of websites that sell ammunition wholesale, and many of them have built up good reputations.
Wholesale Hunter (found at wholesalehunter.com) is one such place with a good reputation and a wide selection, so it wouldn’t hurt to start there. J&S Ammunition (found at bargainammunition.com) is another option that has frequent sales and very low prices. If something is out of stock at J&S Ammunition, they can always do a special order for you. -
Step 4
Decide on how much you need. With the Barack Obama administration now in Washington, all experts expect the tax on ammunition to increase. In addition, his administration may put more fees to purchase ammo, so you might want to stock up before any of that happens. With no end to the United States’ military efforts in sight, the demand for ammunition is only increasing, thus making it harder and harder to find.
This also means that prices are constantly on the rise, with a large outcry from the industry about unfair high prices. If you haven’t got the point yet – it may be a wise decision to buy as much as you think you’ll need right now. Prices might only go up from here. -
Step 5
Give the dealer what they need. Obviously not just anyone can buy ammunition (as described in point two above), so there are a few more steps you’ll have to take once you’ve purchased ammunition online. If you purchased from a company that is local that you’ll just pick up the ammo from, you just need to drive there and show them your government issued identification.
If it’s a dealer farther away (chances are on the internet it is), they should contact you requesting a copy of your identification and some additional information. Don’t worry, this isn’t a scam and they won’t steal your identity – government regulations specify that they must have information from you and verify your age. -
Step 6
Using these steps you should be well on your way to buying wholesale ammunition. With prices constantly rising, demand only increasing, and no way to tell what the current administration plans to do with taxes and fees on ammunition, buying it wholesale is a wise decision. Happy hunting!
