How to Decorate a Girl's Bedroom With Fairy Pixie Decor
Fairies and pixies are one of the most popular bedroom decor choices for little girls. The magical fairy look is easy to achieve with a few basics. Concentrate on a few big areas, like wall murals and bedding, to make a big impact in the room. Too many small details will make the room look cluttered. Let the wall mural set the fairy scene and use other decorations to accent the theme. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Choose one or two walls for a fairy pixie mural in your child's room. Paint a light blue base coat over the entire wall. Paint green grass coming up the bottom third of the wall. Alternate the size of the grass blades. Paint long flower stems with leaves in green reaching about halfway up the wall. Paint brightly colored flower blossoms on the stems in your child's favorite colors. The oversized flower mural will make your child look pixie sized next to it. Add flying butterflies, bees, birds or other insects as well as toadstools. Paint a sun and clouds in the sky.

Go back and add details to the mural. Draw fairies flying among the flowers and resting on the petals. Use glitter pens to draw glimmering trails where fairies have flown. Use puff paint to add texture to flowers, pixies, butterflies and grass.

3
Choose a sheer, gossamer fabric to drape over the bed. Wrap a string of white Christmas lights around a lightweight hula hoop. Wrap the ends of the sheer fabric around hula hoop and allow at least 6 feet of material to fall below. Hang the hula hoop with fishing line centered over your child's bed. Let the sheer fabric fall around the bed like a mosquito net. Glue faux butterflies on the mosquito netting.

4
Make curtains from the same or similar sheer gossamer fabric to hang on the windows. Glue faux butterflies or small fairy cut-outs to the curtains. Attach glow-in-the-dark star and pixie stickers to the ceiling.

5
Hang small fairy dolls at alternating intervals between 1 and 2 from the ceiling with fishing line. Replace closet doors with a pastel or pink beaded curtain. Clips fairies, pixies and butterflies onto the beaded strands. Staple garlands of silk flower vines around window, shelf and door frames or table and desk edges.
-
6
Paint the top seats and rims of two wooden stools red. Draw white circles on them to resemble toadstools. Paint the legs and bases white or cream. Paint the wooden table to resemble a cut-off tree stump. Place the fairy furniture next to the mural wall.
