Make Treats with Halloween Candy

It's a couple days after Halloween, the kids have had their fill and parents have taken their favorites out of the stash - what do you do with all the leftovers? Here's some easy, ways to make use of all that sweet stuff.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

The bite-sized chocolate candy bars can be melted and used as topping. For instance, melt the bars either in the microwave or a double-boiler and drizzle the chocolate over fresh berries or ice cream. Melted Snickers bars taste especially good over vanilla ice cream.

  2. Step 2

Small candies like M&Ms, Reese's Pieces or Skittles can be added to other recipes. Just stir them in - just one type at a time - into Rice Krispie treats, brownie or cookie batter. The addition makes for a colorful and tasty variation on stand-by recipes.

  3. Step 3

You can make a more sophisticated treat by taking pretzel sticks or rods and dipping in chocolate. Some of that chocolate from the melted bite-sized candy bars in step one will work just fine. Next, crush hard candy - toffee works best - and roll the chocolate covered pretzel in the crumbs.

  4. Step 4

Make a terrific milk shake by combining milk, ice cream and your favorite candy in your blender. Mix until well blended, pour and enjoy!
