In your web browser, go to K9webprotection.com (see Resources below). On the home page, click the "get K9 now" button.

Type in your first and last name and your email address to receive a license. Click "request license." Open the email account that you used to request the license. Open the email from K9 web protection support and click the download K9 link.

On the newly opened window, click on the operating system that your computer supports and run the program. Follow the installation instructions, inserting your K9 license from your email and creating a proper password when prompted. Restart your computer.

From your desktop, open the Blue Coat K9 protection program in your web browser and log in using your administrative password. Under "web categories to block," select "custom" to manually set your blocking categories. Check all the inappropriate categories you want to block, including the proxy avoidance box, then save the changes. Close your web browser and reopen for protected browsing.
