It is fine to wrap a gift using decorated paper wrap and bows. But sometimes It can be fun to use other creative ideas when wrapping a gift. Wrapping an item using a men's dress shirt, is one way to be creative when packaging a present. It can make the gift stand out from the rest and you can add another gift inside the box. This makes the shirt a personalized, individual item designed by you.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Shirt
  • Safety Pins
  • Gift Box
  1. Step 1
    Box
    Box

Tape the top of the box that you will be wrapping. Tape down the sides also, so the top of the box does not bulge up. You can use any size box as long as it is not bigger than the shoulders of the dress shirt.

  2. Step 2

Put the box inside the shirt lengthwise until it is evenly squared on the shoulders. The collar should be centered in the middle, on the top of the box. You will want the package to resemble someone actually wearing the shirt. To hide the cardboard space under the collar, tuck the bottom of the shirt up and under on both sides of the box, until they evenly reach the shoulder area. Make sure everything is tucked in and even. The bottom of the shirt should overlap the box a bit, to hide the cardboard edges.

  3. Step 3

Take each sleeve and fold them down one at a time, across the front of the package. Fold each sleeve down, so that they overlap across the front of the box. Tuck any loose material firmly behind the sleeves making sure everything is tight. Use a safety pin to tightly secure the sleeves on each side of the box.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use a scarf or tie to decorate the project. Add cuff links to the sleeves. Put a pair of jeans or shorts that match the shirt inside the box.
  • Do not use straight pins or tape for this project.
