Beer cap tables are a perfect gift for the college student who loves beer or beer pong. The table can highlight all the different kinds of beer you've managed to drink over the years or it can just be a fun color-coated table, great for parties.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Old coffee table
  • Beer caps
  • Glue--either a hot glue gun, an epoxy resin or a plaster
  1. Step 1

Collect beer caps. You can ask around for old beer caps rather than drink them all yourself. The amount of beer caps necessary will depend on the size of your table. You may want to choose beer caps that are similar in color, or you may choose to have different bottle caps altogether. If you wish to make a pattern out of the beer caps, arrange your caps together by color.

  2. Step 2

Lay down the epoxy by spreading a thin layer onto the table, and arrange your bottle caps on them, starting from the outside. Press the bottle caps gently into the epoxy.

  3. Step 3

Add another layer of epoxy to fill the gaps between the beer caps by pouring it over the caps and smoothing it out.

  4. Step 4

    Let the table dry.

  5. Step 5

Add another layer of epoxy for a finished, professional look.

  6. Step 6

You may also get a plaster from your hardware store. If going this route, fill the caps with a plaster let them dry. This will prevent any air bubbles under the caps. Spread the plaster on the table and arrange your bottle caps on them.

  7. Step 7

Hot glue is a third, quick method. Hot glue your bottle caps one by one onto the table. This is a riskier method as the caps can dent this way.
