How to Use the RCA Universal Remote

RCA universal remotes are remotes than can control several different devices, such as a TV, VCR and stereo. Once programmed, you don't need to use any other remote, which makes it easier to manage your entertainment center.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • RCA universal remote
  • Codes list
  1. Step 1

    Turn on the device you want to control with the RCA universal remote.

  2. Step 2

    Press and hold the device button that you matches the device you want to control. The illuminated "On/Off" button will turn on and stay on.

  3. Step 3

    While still holding down the device button, press and hold the "On/Off" button. The illuminated "On/Off" button will then turn off. Continue holding down the buttons until the light turns back on.

  4. Step 4

    Find the brand codes in the codes list that matches the device you want to control. If you don't have the code list that came with your RCA universal remote, you can go to Rcaaccessories.com and download the codes list. Once you find the brand code, punch it in and press the "On/Off" button.

  5. Step 5

    Continue pressing the "On/Off" button until the device turns off. When it turns off, it means that the remote has been programmed. Save the code by pressing the "Stop" button.

  6. Step 6

    Press the button that corresponds with the device whenever you want to control it. Then, your remote will be be linked to that device. When you want to switch to another device your remote is programmed to control, simply press that device button.
