How to Make a Scarf Tunic
Fashion scarves can be beautiful and colorful, but you can also mix up the way you wear them. Rather than just settling for wrapping them around your neck or on a purse, you can make them into a shirt fairly easily. This summer, try making a scarf tunic. It's an easy and fashion-forward DIY project.

1
Find a few large, colorful scarves. You will need two very large scarves. Measure from your shoulder to your hips and around the widest part of your torso. Make sure to give yourself a few inches of wiggle room on the sides. This will make the tunic drape better.

2
Make sure the scarves match or contain similar colors or patterns.

3
Pin the two scarves together with right sides facing around yourself. Pin down the sides, and pin at the shoulders to make sure you are leaving enough room for your arm to move comfortably.
-
4
Sew the sides together, backstitching at both ends and leaving a 5/8-inch seam allowance from the edge of the fabric. Leave the shoulders open.
-
5
Pin the top corners of the two scarves, and sew a 3-inch seam at each corner, backstitching at both ends and leaving a 5/8-inch seam allowance.

6
Trim any excess threads, and wear your tunic.
