How to Install Windows Messenger

You may have AIM and Yahoo instant messenger clients, and you may have many of your friends spread across each. Why not install the IM client from Microsoft called Windows Messenger? Windows Messenger has many more features and is being adopted as a "business application" in many of the largest corporations for this reason. It has been designed to tie in with MS Office as well as Internet Explorer. In order to setup Windows Messenger, make sure your PC has at least 50 megabytes of free space and at least an Intel Pentium 300 MHz processor and 256MB of RAM memory.

Instructions

1. Download the Windows Messenger install software from Microsoft's homepage.

2. Double-click on the Windows Messenger executable file.

3. Click the "yes" button at the next window when asked to install the Windows Messenger setup file.

4. Double-click the "Run" button.

5. Create a Microsoft .NET passport account after the Windows Messenger installer is complete. This is a requirement in order to use the Windows Messenger and Microsoft Passport Network.

6. Click on the Windows "start" button.

7. Choose the Windows messenger icon from the dropdown list, and the Passport Network Wizard will pop up asking you to "to sign up for a .NET passport"

8. Create a new Hotmail email address to sign up with or use an email address you already have.

9. Click "Next."

10. Type in an email address along with a password.

11. Click "Finish" to complete the process.

12. Login and start using Windows Messenger.
