Shaving can be a pain, especially if you need to shave under your arms. It is very common to suffer from shaving bumps and razor rash when you continually shave under the arms in the wrong way. Here are a few steps to help you shave correctly so that you will have smooth underarms without bumps.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Fresh razor Shaving cream Warm to hot water Moisturizer
  1. Step 1

Soap your underarms in warm to hot water for 10 to 15 minutes. This will soften the skin and prepare your underarms for shaving. You can do this by soaking in a hot tub or by laying hot cloths on your armpits. Remember not make the water so hot that it scalds you.

  2. Step 2

Apply shaving cream to the parts that you want to shave. Using shaving cream instead of soap is ideal, since shaving cream contains moisturizers that keep the skin slick while you shave.

  3. Step 3

Shave your underarms going with the grain of the hair. This means you will shave in the direction of hair growth. Try to use a new, fresh blade. This will prevent the hairs from growing in under the skin, creating itchy skin bumps.

  4. Step 4

Rinse with water thoroughly, after you have shaved all of the hair under your arms.

  5. Step 5

Dry your underarms with a soft towel and apply a thin layer of moisturizer to the shaved areas. This will keep the underarms soft and moistened, and it will protect them from getting dry and itchy.

Tips & Warnings
  • Keep all shaving creams and razors away from children.
