Do you remember those old ads for the dish washing liquid that can supposedly help you get soft hands? Well, if you truly want to get soft hands, but at the moment your hands are feeling rough, dry and scaly, this article contains several quick, simple tips for getting softer hands starting immediately.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A desire to get soft hands and the willingness to follow certain steps to achieve this goal.
  1. Step 1

To get soft hands, make sure that the hand soap sitting by the sink in your bathroom(s) is always the moisturizing kind of hand soap. After all, you wash your hands many times each day, and you don’t want simple hand washing to be the cause of dry hands.

  2. Step 2

For a special treat, when you can afford it, another way to get soft hands is to go to a salon or day spa and get a manicure. Not only will the manicurist shape and paint your nails any color you like, she will also moisturize your hands and make them feel extremely soft to the touch.

  3. Step 3

If you are really serious about getting soft hands, there is another old method you can try, though it might be rather disruptive to your sleep routine, and that is to rub Vaseline all over your hands and then put disposable (ideally cotton) gloves on over them. If you struggle with insomnia or other sleep-related problems, this might be too much of a change to your sleep routine. Also, you might feel that this is an example of taking a “beauty routine” one step too far in the good old “inconvenience department.” Just be aware that it does work quite well, and women who do this in order to get soft hands swear by its effectiveness.

Tips & Warnings
  • Don’t forget to apply your favorite moisturizing lotion to your hands each day, perhaps more than once a day, depending on how dry your hands get during the course of the day, as this is another tried and true way to get soft hands.
