Removing the screen door lock is necessary to do when you want to change the handle to match your decor, or your old handle is broken. Screen door handles come in a variety of types. Make sure that your replacement lock matches the hole layout, that is in the screen door.
Things You'll Need
- Phillips screwdriver
Open your screen door, and stand in between the outside and inside.
Hold the outside latch.
Unscrew the two screws that are on the inside.
Pull the latch apart. There will be two parts, the inside latch, and the outside handle.
Look at the holes in the screen that are there to match it with your new handle.
