How to Remove AOL Instant Messenger

AOL Instant Messenger continually updates its Instant Messenger freeware and recommends new versions to its wide user base for upgraded functionality and increased security. If your currently installed version is having any compatibility or performance issues,it is recommended that you remove the program before installing it again. Removing AOL Instant Messenger involves a few simple steps.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Click the "Start Menu" button located on the left bottom of the task bar of your computer.

  2. Step 2

    Scroll to "Control Panel" and click on it. If you cannot locate Control Panel for any reason, type Control Panel in the search window below "All Programs."

  3. Step 3

    Click on the "Uninstall a Program" link under Programs from the list of menus or features displayed in the Control Panel window.

  4. Step 4

    Scroll down to "AOL Instant Messenger" and right click on it. Click on "Uninstall/Change."Click "Yes" once the command asks for permission again to remove. Removing the program will take a few minutes.
