Things You'll Need:
- Borax
- Cornstarch
- School glue (white, blue, or clear)
- warm water
- food coloring
- 2 plastic spoons
- 2 small plastic cups for mixing
- pen
- Ziplock for storage
-
Step 1
Use the pen to label each small cup. One should say Borax mixture and the other should say Bouncy Ball mixture.
-
Step 2
Pour 2 Tablespoons of warm water and 1/2 teaspoon of Borax into the plastic cup labeled Borax mixture. Thoroughly stir the mixture to dissolve the borax using your plastic spoon. Add food coloring if you would like to use coloring.
-
Step 3
Pour 1 Tablespoon of school glue into the plastic cup labeled Bouncy Ball Mixture. Add 1/2 teaspoon of the borax solution that you just made and 1 Tablespoon of cornstarch. Do not stir.
-
Step 4
Allow the ingredients to "sit" for 10 to 15 seconds and then stir them together to fully mix. Once the mixture becomes very hard to stir, take it out of the plastic cup and start molding it with your hands.
-
Step 5
The ball mixture will start out very sticky and messy, but soon it will start to harden as you mold it in your hands.
-
Step 6
Once the ball is not as sticky, it is ready to bounce. Play until your heart is content. Then store your homemade ball in a ziplock baggie.
