You don't want to pay $4 for a cup of coffee. Did you know that you can make great coffee with a coffee makers that cost less than $10. For the coffee lover, there is no substitute for a fresh cup of good coffee.

  1. Step 1

    To select the best coffee maker, you need to find which ones make good coffee and of course steer clear of the ones that make bad coffee.

  2. Step 2

    The French Press is a basically a glass jar with vertical slide and a mesh filter. You place your grounds in the jar, add very hot water (not boiling) let it sit for 3-4 minutes, then press the mesh filter plunger down. Presto! You have one of the richest and best tasting coffee you could ever want.

    Next you have a percolator. These coffee makers sound great, but in reality will destroy your coffee. As I mentioned in the previous step, you do not want to boil the water. Percolators work exactly on that premises. If you want a good coffee maker, do not choose the percolator.

    Finally you have a Coffee drip brewers. These are the most common and can make an excellent cup of coffee. You have seen this coffee maker in your office at home, basically a paper filter and hot water. As long as the water doesn't boil, these are great! The down side of these, you need to make enough coffee your are wanting to drink immediately. If you have ever tasted the coffee after sitting on the hotplate for an hour, you know exactly what I mean.

Tips & Warnings
  • There are 1000's of chemical reactions when making coffee. That is why coffee is best when served immediately. Every second coffee sits after being made, the flavor changes for the worse. Drink fresh coffee.
