Step 1
To select the best coffee maker, you need to find which ones make good coffee and of course steer clear of the ones that make bad coffee.
-
Step 2
French Press - Cost less than $10The French Press is a basically a glass jar with vertical slide and a mesh filter. You place your grounds in the jar, add very hot water (not boiling) let it sit for 3-4 minutes, then press the mesh filter plunger down. Presto! You have one of the richest and best tasting coffee you could ever want.

Step 3
Percolator - Stay away!Next you have a percolator. These coffee makers sound great, but in reality will destroy your coffee. As I mentioned in the previous step, you do not want to boil the water. Percolators work exactly on that premises. If you want a good coffee maker, do not choose the percolator.

Step 4
Drip Brewers - great coffee and affordable! Finally you have a Coffee drip brewers. These are the most common and can make an excellent cup of coffee. You have seen this coffee maker in your office at home, basically a paper filter and hot water. As long as the water doesn't boil, these are great! The down side of these, you need to make enough coffee your are wanting to drink immediately. If you have ever tasted the coffee after sitting on the hotplate for an hour, you know exactly what I mean.
