How to Replace Saab Key Battery

Replacing your Saab key battery can be a daunting task. Indeed, the renowned quirkiness of Saab's cars is matched by that of its keys. From, figuring out how to open the lid to finding the right battery, a little know-how will save you time and hassle.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Screwdriver Nail file or small knife New battery (CR1632)
  1. Step 1

    Locate the hole in the side of the Saab key.

  2. Step 2

    Using the largest screwdriver that will fit into the hole, insert and press against the plastic sprung clip inside the key.

  3. Step 3

    Slide a nail file or a small knife under the back lid and gently lever it up. Be sure to apply pressure in both spots (the sprung clip and the back lid), the lid will pop open.

  4. Step 4

    After removing the lid, replace the battery. You'll need a CR1632 for anything since 1998.
