When you take you baby home from the hospital there will be a few things that are completely new. Like giving a new born baby bath. You will have a few things to consider such as umbilical cords and circumcisions.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • towel
  • wash cloth
  • bowl
  • baby tear free soap
  • baby lotion
  1. Step 1

The first step in a new born baby bath is to prepare. Get a bowl of warm water. Make sure your room is warm. Get your towel, wash cloth and soap all within arms reach. Also have lotion, diaper, and change of cloth.

  2. Step 2

The second step in a new born baby bath is to lay your towel over a soft surface like your bed put your baby on it and undress your new born baby. Then cover with the towel. I usually leave the diaper on.

  3. Step 3

In this baby bath step you will need to wet your wash cloth and start with your baby's head wash gently using a little soap as needed. Always rinse washcloth and wipe away soap. Then go threw the rest of the body only uncover the parts that you are washing then recover and dry as you go. Do not get umbilical cord wet. Do the diaper area last and quickly cover with new diaper. Remember not to wash a circumcision as well.

  4. Step 4

As the last step in your new born baby bath gently rub lotion in and dress your baby.

Tips & Warnings
  • don't put a newborns belly under water until they have lost there umbilical cord and the circumcision has healed.
  • try to keep your baby warm newborns don't have as much control over body temperatures.
  • never leave a kid alone around water for any reason.
  • check you water heater to make sure it is set properly to avoid burns.
