Step 1
Log into your Hotmail account using your Windows Live ID. This will open your Hotmail inbox.

Click on "Contacts List" in the left-hand menu.

Click "New" to add a contact to your list. Type in the contact's name, nickname, address, business information and phone number. You can also add other information, such as a person's birthday and personal notes.

Click "Save." Your contact list will be immediately updated with the new contact's information.

Delete a contact by checking the box next to his name. Click "Delete." Click "OK" to confirm that you wish to delete this contact.

Check the box next to the contact whose information you wish to change.

Click "Edit." Modify the contact information.

Click "Save" to update the contact's listing.

Check the box next to the contact that you would like to make a favorite.

Click "Categories" from the top toolbar. Pick "Favorites" from the drop-down menu. The contact has now been added to the Hotmail favorites list.

Delete a contact from the favorites list by clicking on "Favorites" in the left-hand menu.

Click the highlighted star in the contact's information box. The contact is removed from the favorites list.
