Step 1
The first rule of thumb in dressing for success is to not wear pants. Be who you are. Be confident in who you are.
-
Step 2
Be conservative. Do not be suggestive in your dress wear. The ole "if you got it flaunt it attitude" will cause you to fail or not be taken seriously. Wear skirt suits when you are in success mode. Choose colors like charcoal, gray, or dark blue. Wear high quality black or brown shoes. Make sure your shoes are closed toe and closed heel.
-
Step 3
Groom your hair neatly. Tone down the "BIG HAIR" on your head, if you have it. Remove hair from your face, legs, and exposed arm pits.
-
Step 4
Here are a few things that can backfire on you: Visible body piercings, visible tatoos, tight clothing, etc... These things can send the wrong message. Stick with things that are mainstream and conservative when you are in success mode.
-
Step 5
Don't try to look like anyone else. Be the best YOU. Develop an upright professional posture when walking, standing, or sitting.
-
Step 6
Change your attitude to the following:
* Determined
* Confident
* Winning
* Professional
Ask for what you want from whoever you have to ask. Be relentless.

on 9/4/2009 Great content! The only point I wasn't sure about is not wearing pants. Pants are an essential part of a women's wardrobe. Granted, sloppy, ill-fitting, unflattering pants should be banned from women's wardrobes - I've seen too many of them around!!
I am looking forward to reading more of your stuff! And I am not just saying that! 5*

on 8/31/2009 Although I DO agee that skirts and dresses make a women look classy, there are also pant suites that are pretty classy too-if worn with classy shoes.
Also, if the attitude is bad, then it does not matter what they wear. Beauty comes from within!!!
Thanks for sharing your views.
