How to Dress for Success - Women

The first rule of thumb in dressing for success is to not wear pants. Pants are okay to wear at work or during other activities outside of work, but when you're looking for the promotion or next step in your career (success mode), go lady conservative in dresses and skirts. Be who you are. Be confident in who you are.

2
Be conservative. Do not be suggestive in your dress wear. The ole "if you got it flaunt it attitude" will cause you to fail or not be taken seriously. Wear skirt suits when you are in success mode. Choose colors like charcoal, gray, or dark blue. Wear high quality black or brown shoes. Make sure your shoes are closed toe and closed heel.

Groom your hair neatly. Tone down the "BIG HAIR" on your head, if you have it. Remove hair from your face, legs, and exposed arm pits.

4
Here are a few things that can backfire on you: Visible body piercings, visible tatoos, tight clothing, etc... These things can send the wrong message. Stick with things that are mainstream and conservative when you are in success mode.

Don't try to look like anyone else. Be the best YOU. Develop an upright professional posture when walking, standing, or sitting. Exude total confidence.
