Bruises are nasty reminders of a possibly painful experience. They're also not pleasant to look at. We've all had bruises, and chances are we're all going to have them again. After all, even the most graceful person is eventually going to fall or run into something. By following these simple steps, you can get rid of bruises quickly and naturally.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Ice
  • Cloth
  • Orange juice
  • Arnica
  • Water
  • Soap
  1. Step 1

Wash the bruised area with soap and water to disinfect the area, especially if there are any wounds along with the bruise.

  2. Step 2

Apply an icepack to the bruise. This will help keep the swelling to a minimum.

  3. Step 3

Drink orange juice throughout the day. The vitamin C will be invaluable in getting rid of the bruise. Citrus fruits have natural flavinoids as well, which are required for collagen synthesis. This is the process of producing connective tissues, which your body needs for healing.

  4. Step 4

Relax with your feet propped up. Elevation is key to getting rid of bruises quickly.

  5. Step 5

Apply arnica to your bruise 3 to 4 times a day. This is a plant extract that has been used to treat bruises for some time and is often used to replace store-bought topical creams.

Tips & Warnings
  • Do not poke or touch your bruise. Aggravating it will slow down the healing process.
