PowerPoint is a great tool when it is used correctly; however, it can also work against you if you are not careful. Following these steps will provide the guidance for creating an outstanding PowerPoint presentation.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

State your conclusion at the beginning of the presentation, do not wait until the end or else you may never get to it. Use the rest of your time to support your conclusion.

  2. Step 2

Use as few words as possible on your slides. Never use more than 3 sentences per slide and never use more than 6 words per sentence. No one wants to listen to you read your presentation off of your PowerPoint slides. Instead use your slides to highlight the key points.

  3. Step 3

Allow for 6 to 10 minutes of time for each slide. Take your time and speak clearly. You could make the wrong impression if you speak too quickly and rush through your slides.

  4. Step 4

Only ask once if your audience has any questions...at the end of the presentation. It can be very annoying if the presenter asks if there are "any questions" after every slide. Instead, pause for ten seconds between slides. This will allow enough time for anyone with a question to speak-up.
