How to Find FREE Sewing Patterns Online

Sewing patterns and idea books can be fairly expensive at your local fabric and craft stores, but there are hundreds available FREE on the web. Here's just a few of my favorite sites:

1. 

   At BurdaStyle.com, register and get copyright free patterns as well as step-by-step tutorials for great sewing projects like: Lined silk curtains; an adorable toddler jumper; handbags; men's ties; baby toys, and more.

2. 

   You'll also need to register at FreePatterns.com to download their patterns for wall hangings, pillows, cushions and other home accessories.

3. At SavvySeams.com you can download the Tudor Rose Handbag pattern. There are also instructions for this one, divided into 5 pages. It's a bit extensive, but a rewarding project! They've got some other great patterns for teens, like an mp3 player case, oven mitts, and a daisy felt flower pin.

4. 

   And then there's SewingMamas.com -- This is a forum style site which you'll need to join before downloading lots of cute gift and boutique designs. Not only can you download lots of wonderful patterns, you can also upload your own!

   Last (but certainly not least) on my list is Sewing.org. Here's a great site to find patterns for the guys in your life. Among their sewing projects: an outdoor fishing vest, sturdy tool wrap, and men's travel set. Happy Sewing!
